BWI YEAR END CAMPAIGN
As the end of the year draws near, I want to share with you what has been happening at Brooklyn Workforce Innovations over the last eleven months. I also reach out to ask that you donate to BWI today, and give opportunity to the neediest New Yorkers.
This year we will train and place into jobs more people than we ever have, providing them with an avenue to sustainable employment during the toughest economic times most of us have ever seen.
Our Award-Winning Programs: Vehicles of Change
•Red Hook on the Road trains men and women for careers as licensed commercial bus and truck drivers.
•Brooklyn Networks prepares people for careers in high-speed data and voice transmission cable that can lead to an internationally recognized certification.
•The “Made in NY” Production Assistant Training Program connects New Yorkers with careers in TV and film production through hands-on training.
•Brooklyn Woods trains individuals for careers in skilled woodworking and produces an environmentally-sustainable line of cabinets that provides students with real-world work experience.
•The NYCHA Resident Training Academy is an innovative public-private partnership that trains public housing residents for excellent jobs with NYCHA.
•New York Drives helps women develop their careers and secure a NYS Driver’s License.
BWI’s Programs Are Working
More than 8 out of 10 of our graduates go on to gain upwardly-mobile jobs.
I promise your gift will be well spent.
Please help us provide skills training, coaching, employment and — most importantly — hope to some of your neighbors.
Your donation will help us maintain state-of-the-art training facilities, employ industry-experienced instructors, and help hundreds step out of poverty and into the workforce.
Deepest thanks,
Aaron Shiffman
